Love getting the updates. The pictures too are fabulous. We can't wait to come back and see more of Charleston. Dad can't stop talking about the Haunted Walks - so hold on, he'll want to do those. Just let us know when your calendar looks wide open or just lonely. Sounds like there are many who want to visit you - let us know when we can have another turn. Maggie won't mind another airplane ride, I'm sure. And the weather - looking forward to some more SC sunshine - any time!!
Love and miss you, Pattie, Dad & Maggie |

Wow! What a surprise to see that you updated your travel journal. How ironic - your Dad & I just talked last night about how well prepared you are to go out into life in a new town. We are certain that you will do fantastic and make a difference in so many kids' lives. But we fully recognize how scary this has to be. You wouldn't be human if you weren't a little scared. The unknown is always reason for apprehension and angst. But, I've told you so many times and will tell you again, your work ethic and hard work are already paying off in the wonderful multiple job offers - you will truly get to choose the job you want most. You deserve all that is coming - you have worked very hard to acheive and reach your goals. I am so very proud of you and cannot wait to watch your strut your stuff across the stage at graduation and then enrich the lives of every student lucky enough to be in your class. Best of luck and CONGRATULATIONS! Love you,
Pattie |

Well it's almost here - within hours we will finally be seeing that bright and shining little face. Reading your most recent journal puts everything into perspective Whitney. You truly have shown growth in every way and a senior, a senior in college! Your writing is heartfelt and certainly shows the promise of a novel. When the time comes your students will be the lucky ones to have had the pleasure of your guidance and teachings. I couldn't be more proud of you. You reaffirm the reason why I was put on this earth. Do have a safe trip home - can't wait to see you step into sight! Love you so very much. Mom |

It warms my heart to hear you so impacted by your time in Spain. I knew this would be a tremendous time of learning and growing and I noticed several references to that in your last journal. I'm so very proud, and your Dad is too of course, of how well you've "weathered" being gone for so long. And, I knew when the time came to come home, you'd wonder how the time passed so quickly. I'm so glad you got to experience so many different cultures and come to understand the differences. Once you're home and settled back into your life here, I'm sure you'll realize even more that you learned. Being "worldly" in an invaluable asset in our modern world. Your students will benefit endlessly from your experience. But some of the other things you mentioned, you've grown tremendously as a person and in maturity. May you have a safe journey home to us - we'll be waiting anxiously for you in just under 32 hours! We love you!! Pattie |

Your journal entries were quite funny! I never liked studying for finals either, but I'd say it'd be a lot easier to do while eating ice cream, sitting on the Plaza in Alcala, Spain!! When Maggie got up this a.m. she came in with her hand up - I wasn't sure what she wanted unitl she clarified that is was 5 fingers - as in 5!! days until Sissy comes home! Everyone is excited to see you this weekend! I know finals will go smoothly for you! SEE YOU SOON! Love you, Pattie |
