Hi Tosh, Have been reading your journal and I must say that all of us are SPOILT rotten. No Armani there, No Five star accomodation. Just goes to show that people can survive without the trappings. Your doing so well, give a little, gain a lot. We all love you more for what you are doing. Kisses on the Moon, Dad xxxxxx

Victoria - I've finally sat down and managed to spend time reading your journals and looking at your pix. I have to tell you I got a laugh from the comment about hippy people who lie around smoking and saying 'this is really great being able to experience this man'...Gosh, that was funny...I'm happy to see you haven't lost your sense of humour over there. I also have to tell you that, yes I know I'm an emotional wreck - well all know that, but your photos brought tears to my eyes...Partly because I can't believe those children, those people, can live in the conditions they live in but still be able to smile and enjoy life for what it is for them; party because of how proud I am of you for sticking it out - you've REALLY left your comfort zone there, trust me, we all know (well, we don't know but we can imagine); and partly because of how much I miss you. Now, just remember there is a silver lining to every cloud and although you've been eating rice and beans since you've been there you look absolutely gorgeous and so thin! So try to focus on that as you starve on bland grains for the next few weeks...Well, I love you - I've got to go - tons of essays to write for Spanish! Can you believe I'm almost done with school!? Monday is my last official day and then Thurs is my grad. ceremony!! I love you lots xxxx -Charlybum

Yes, you look so beautiful and like your mom Victoria. You look very brown and very thin. Make sure you're eating enough protein, and, as Mari says, drinking enough! Do they sell anything like Gatorade or some kind of vitamin water? If so please drink it. Those little babies are so sweet and cute. No wonder everyone is claiming to want one. A blog from Cali? I am on my second cup of coffee... about to go and clean Lily's room then a quick shower and off to work. I haven't showed this to Lily yet, will do so tonight, she will find it fascinating, then I will have to remind her how she is related to you...and she'll say "OH.... yeah I remember now!" Love Emma

Darling Victoria, The latest photos are wonderful. I want one of those kids! Brigit wants the wee guy who was winking( unfortunately I'm over 45( I know it's hard to believe) and we're not loaded but we do live in the States!!! You look beautiful- a little tired ( no wonder). Make sure you drink plenty of water- dehydration would be awful. It's the first time really I've seen you looking like your Mum( before anyone says it-not because she's tired looking) more the shape of face. Well take care sweetheart- you're really quite amazing. love M

In your Mums office today and was persuaded in the usual way to read your journal. I am so proud of what you are doing and at least you will have something different to talk about. Your Mum tells me that you are happier out there which is bad news for me. Look forward to losing the bet. Alex

I'm glad you now have the hotel to keep you cool and clean and sane!! Would it be totally wrong to check into the hotel overnight even just at the weekends? I'm so glad you're feeling better and the orphange sounds great (but sad) the babies will be loving having you there to cuddle them! Did you get to give them the donations yet? Take care...lots of love x

Wow Victoria. What an experience! Not just for you, but for all of us to get to follow you on this trip. The beginning part...always the worst, right? Your mentioning you don't see how you can make it through... and yet you are doing it. Your descriptions are fascinating and sad. The people being chained at the orphanage, the baby girl who fell and couldn't cry. It says you have had 457 visitors on here! I am sorry it took me a few days to send you a note. Just been re-reading all your entries. Thanks for taking the time to write it all because you must be exhausted at the end of some of those days. Just think of how your being there creates a ripple, however small, which affects those kids and those people, even if they are laughing at your accent. They're laughing with you, too. You take great pictures. Looking forward to more.

Hey babe, WOW! Your journal is great! Pictures look great too. I would pay good money to see your face when you saw where you were sleeping tho! Did you know that when your skin burns it can't take any more suntan? Factor 30 will protect you for 30 times longer before you burn. I dont want a wrinkly friend looking like Willamina out of Ugly Betty. I texted you back on Friday but didn't know if you got it?Be safe X

Hi darling Your day at the orphanage sounds amazing, it is very sad however should help you remember why you are there. All that you can do is the best you can while you are with them. Do not waste a penny and leave what you have to them or buy what you think they would benefit from most. Do not forget that their ways are not ours but probably what the babies are used to.Have you given the goodies from Gwen and everyone yet, that will all make a huge difference. As much as the place is poor they children look healthy and appear clean(even if they smell). Pay attention to your diet and please use a higher sun factor. i know we all keep asking but keep the photo's coming please. love and take care Mum xxx
