Hey...just stumbled across your first encounter with Argentine mullet-dom.
Having lived in Buenos Aires for 2 years and travelled extensively in the
country, I share your concern about how barbers everywhere in this country, in
homage to some Nascar racing fantasy they all share, refuse to cut that back
swath of hair. Being utterly concerned with the phenomenon, we investigated with
some friends, and the apparent correct way to ask for a mullet in a barber shop
is to ask for a "rolling" cut...for some reason mullets are here associated with
the Rolling Stones, which have never lost their popularity along with a good
many other 70s and 80s bands...step into any locutorio/cyber cafe and you'll see
what i mean. Best of luck with the rest of the Argentine travels! P.S. If you
pass through Buenos Aires, there is a parrilla here called "Mullet Bay" that is
a shocking revelation of the national passion for gaudy haircuts.

Hi guys!My internet was down forever so I've just now gotten to go through all your wonderful-amazing-hilarious pictures(jess, the ones w/you and the animals are soooo cute!) when I should be writing thousands and thousands of words of papers...thanks for the distraction, aren't you glad you skipped school, mikey! I've lately developed an eye-twitch from stress!
Must admit, my jeaousy is acute. You two seem to be having the best time while here it's dreary and cold! I see pauly and handsome john all the time, and we miss you...thanks for letting us live vicariously though your pictures and whatnot.

Hey Smell Pot: We waited all day for a call from you - but I suppose you were on a bus to somewhere. Well, I was on a bus too - to the asshole of the world - Fort McMurray. Happy Birthday - keep on dancing. Love Dad |
