Why are all backpackers like the one at Santa Cruz!!! I knew it was a monkey, it's got a better beard you and me! By the way Melb. Victory lost to Fulham 0-3. 1st game is on 6th August. Like the Brasil shirt.

When I looked at the first picture of your latest series of photos I thought your beard has finally filled out, but then Hanny said that's not Alex, that's a monkey. Nice pictures just the same. Love reading your stories and if John gets carried away about winning chess, ask him about another game of golf with Daniel, Markus and me.

See you got pic of the day today! Think you have better ones (we never think they choose our best ones either)but a good pic all the same. Had to laugh at your last pic: 'He thinks everyone should have guns' - brilliant. Yes, then everyone could shoot everyone else! It's a far better solution than if no one had guns. Anyway, keep enjoying your travels!

Alex, I wish I could write as well and organized as you do in ur traveljournal. I got Jon's message inviting us for dinner, but I am suffering from conjunctivitis that simply does not go away. As I have the trip scheduled to Colombia/US on the 10th, I'd better slow down my evenings a little bit thoe days. I saw your pics from SP and they look gorgeous. Cheers mate!! Keep it up.

That has to be The most terrifying 3 legged ladder I ever saw!!! And I thought the fruit picking ladders were bad.. I am not scared of heights at all but that is ridiculous!! love the main street of Cuidad Del Este shot, the headless statue, and your reflection in a red ball

Pic of the day: French couple Pic for work computer: stairway to heaven (or maybe the grand overview…) Probably St Christopher – patron saint of travellers OMG Jon has hair! Lots of hair! That is the most neatly stacked supermarket ever! I am petitioning the government so that we can drink beer in ours too – especially out of an ice bucket!!
