My son and I are looking forward to a trip to Peru to see all the different and beautiful sights they have there, you showed me many places and things I want to experience with him. It's funny I was told it is a must to take the train and we plan to. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for writing about Christiania. I miss Denmark! vI was only in Copenhagen for a few days and it being winter it was dark by the time we got to Christiania! So. Damn. Cold. And so I didn't see much. Had a nice organic cafe dinner though.

Phil Oliver, The reason I skirted around Uruguay is because the original plan was to turn south from Rio and head back along the coast taking in Curitiba, Florianopolis (where apparently the most beautiful women in Brazil reside) and entering Uruguay from the north, hitting up Montevideo and then UNESCO city of Colonia before catching the boat back to Buenos Aires and heading west to Santiago and eventually north to Bolivia and Peru. When we arrived in Rio our friend that we were meeting in Buenos Aires said they won't going to come anymore and we were finding ourselves running out of money in Brazil fast, so we though the best thing to do was get out of Brazil as quickly as possible, so knowing Argentina and Chile aren't really cheap countries we went west and entered Bolivia. A beautiful country so amazing and wonderful we ended up staying more than half of our three month trip traveling around which left us little time for Peru and Chile. I was flying home from Buenos Aires so I figured I would take a few extra days and catch the boat across, but unfortunately my flight routing was redirected via Santiago and consequently my Ugandan dreams were dashed. It looks pretty lonely on my world map as this small unvisited country was surrounded by so many large visited countries. But at least Swaziland doesn't feel so bad anymore (a similar rerouting made me visit every country in southern and eastern Africa except this small nation). So there you have it, an extra long explanation for such a small statement. But if anything, I found people tend to skirt around Paraguay even more. I only spent a few days there, but they were wonderful days and I wish I spend more time there. It's rather off the tourist track which leaves not a hell of a lot to do, but for this reason makes it a fascinating destination to visit. I think next time (always planning next time) I would like to spend more time there and get into the west of the country, the real gaucho (coyboy) paradise. Take a look at my real webpage for some great photos from around the world and around the corner dub dub dun dot bonaccord dot com dot au Cheers and peace out

I really enjoy your style of writing and the Bohemian way of traveling. You've gone beyond and done more of the things I've always wanted to do. Enjoyed reading about Argentina, Paraguay and then Brazil -- Rio. So far you seem to have skirted around Uruguay, which is one of the reasons why I am intrigued by the country -- people seem to overlook it. I intend to read on more of your scribes. Enjoy, Phil

Hello, I am a college student from Taiwan. Your trip to Brazil is really interesting, and I read your travel journal before I do my report. Moreover, I shared your journal to my classmates, and they all enjoy it. Thank you a lot! PS.I am very admired you that you can go to so many countries.

Down to Melbourne came the Newcastle Jets. We will win said the Victory fans and layed their bets. So Archie Thompson put one in for us with his head. But no matter what the game was not yet dead. Newcastle scrambled and delivered the final blow. They put one back later on and forced a draw. Melbourne Victory 1 Newcastle Jets 1 . But going by the past - loss - draw - win - loss - draw , the next one will be a win. Happy traveling

Melbourne Victory had a trip to Perth and quickly came back down to earth. With an early goal against them once more, they had to scramble to even the score. But Perth worked hard to score again, and Melbourne's effort was all in vain. Perth 2 Melbourne 1

Can you believe it. First up this year the Melbourne Victory lost at home ,than they managed a draw also at home and now they played proably so far the weakest game this season away against North Quensland Fury and Victory won 0-1. Wayting for some interesting story from you.

Melbourne Victory have left the bottom of the ladder (just). In the second game of the season it looked like the week bevor as Victory went 0-2 down early in the first half again at home against Brisbane Roar. They got one back only to see Brisbane scoring again for a 1-3. To Melbourne's credit, they worked hard to finish 3-3. Five of the six goals would qualify for goal of the year the other was a penalty for Brisbane. One point each is not doing it justice as both teams delivered the best game I have seen in a long time.

Do you want the good news first or the bad news! Ok the bad news is Melbourne Victory lost the opening game at home to Central Coast Mariners 0-2. The good news for you is that Central Coast also have a Scotish Coach. As for me, well I think it was a good game. Central Coast came to play devensive which I normaly dont like, but they never held up the game by time wasting and launched plenty of counter attacks. Two early goals sealed the deal. Don't let this spoil you fun, Enjoy

Why are all backpackers like the one at Santa Cruz!!! I knew it was a monkey, it's got a better beard you and me! By the way Melb. Victory lost to Fulham 0-3. 1st game is on 6th August. Like the Brasil shirt.

When I looked at the first picture of your latest series of photos I thought your beard has finally filled out, but then Hanny said that's not Alex, that's a monkey. Nice pictures just the same. Love reading your stories and if John gets carried away about winning chess, ask him about another game of golf with Daniel, Markus and me.

See you got pic of the day today! Think you have better ones (we never think they choose our best ones either)but a good pic all the same. Had to laugh at your last pic: 'He thinks everyone should have guns' - brilliant. Yes, then everyone could shoot everyone else! It's a far better solution than if no one had guns. Anyway, keep enjoying your travels!
