Well, here I set in Canary Wharf. Enjoyed my sardine experience on the Jubilee line again this morning and its lovely and grey and miserable outside and I'm starting to think maybe going travelling again wouldn't be such a bad idea after all... Don't forget to drink lots of water, wear your hat and don't frown too much - and no bringing any children home with you :0)

Hello, We're doing research on the ruins of El Fuerte de Samaipata and saw that you have some photos online - did you visit the site and have any photos of the area in general? Thanks ... if you do please email me at angeliapayne@gmail.com Cheers Angie

dear travelers: Following your remark "we're here cecilia" dated 2004-11-01. I love Bariloche very much, it's the place where I grew up till I was 16, when I moved to Israel. Being born in Argentina to a Romanian-Polish-Ucrainian jewish and Spaniard-Irish-German family, the remark about the O'Connor street name not being argentinian was very funny for me. O'Connor is an argentinian name as any other "classicaly hispanic" name. In my class in Bariloche I had friends with names coming from more than ten different countries, mostly from europe. Beside the spanish surnames, which were the minority, we had german, belgian, italian, danish, french, polish, slovenian, swiss, welsh, lebanese, armenian and greek surnames. That is to remind everyone that Argentina, being it's official language Spanish, received large numbers of inmigrants from all over Europe, and ANY name is typically argentinian, because the argentinian people is made of all these inmigrants. Right, O'Connor sounds irish, and is true, also irish people came here to live ad to explore.... The relation with Great Britain is a very interesting one. Many identify WWII Argentina with sympathy for the axis, but it's anglo-argentine community and many non anglos joined the RAF forming two squadrons of argentinian pilots!!! can you believe it? and now, all I have to do is to thank you so much for reviving my days in those lakes and forests, I climbed many of those "cerros" as a young member of the Bariloche Andean Club and those views are unforgetable. thank you again Iuval Rosenberg iuvero@hotmail.com

Hi! Glad everything is well, and really enjoying your stories. Like you, I found Ecuador much more friendly than Peru. Banos was one of my favourite places for chilled out atmosphere in beautiful settings - just look out for the arrows on the road telling you in which direction to run if the volcano errupts!

Hey guys! We really enjoyed your entry from the Colca Canyon. We just finished it on Feb. 15th. Must have just missed you! Plus, we went to see "The Aviator" and "Meet the Fockers" in Arequipa. How about that! Here's our travel journal page: www.traveljournals.net/viajeros (Jess - By the way, it took me 4 hours to climb from Oasis to Cabanaconde! You done good, girl!)

Sorry Ed! Now we`re even more impressed - isn`t that equal to the record for climbing it??? According to the Rough Guide anyway. We bow down to you! :0)

Hiya, sorry haven't emailed in a while, much stress but I promise to write this weekend! In the meantime I feel obliged to point out on behalf of Ed that, whilst he appreciates the special mention concerning the speed with which he climbed huaynapicchu, he actually did it in about 22 minutes (not 35)!

14km hikes? Hills?? Sarah, what has happened to you?!? Of course, that's nothing compared to our lunchtime treks round the immense Cowley lake ;o)

Yeah, thanks James! I had the dubious pleasure of watching the game and given the team that Liverpool put out, I wasn´t surprised by the result, although Traore is a complete donkey!

Just a quick one. Chris, Burnley knocked Liverpool out of the FA cup last night.
