Hey Scotty, Since you are going back to Guatemala, I think you need to pick up a pair of those red striped pants that the guatamala men like to wear so much! I think they are just your style!:)

It's good to hear that you made it throught he hurricane unscathed. We heard that Guate was hit pretty hard in this morning's news and you came to mind, naturally. Be careful and may luck continue to be with you...

Pics are looking great. It's fun to see that you're visiting spots that I went to a year and a half ago. Enjoy Tikal! I challenge you to figure out what movie was filmed in Tikal...

Brian, that picture is from Hell's Canyon in Eastern Oregon. But Scott, I'm hoping that you update it with one from your current trip!

Sounds like such an adventure. I just got back from Mexico and was, like you, feeling a bit lost for the first little while but after a couple of weeks of Spanish lessons the whole place opened up, I met a lot of locals and it went well from there. Hope you have just as good a time.

I assume the picture of Scott (hat, blue shirt, with the green hills in the background) is not from his current trip. Any guesses as to where this picture is from?

I'm always amazed at the trips Scott pulls together. And I'm even more amazed that he can negotiate such a huge block of time off! He should teach a class and I'll sign up for lessons. I can't wait to see the pictures!

Does anyone else besides me live vicariously through Scott's travels? It works out great - it's so much less work than actually going there myself. Not to mention the difficulties of taking 2 pre-schoolers on a 6 month trek through Central America. And Scott will probably end up with better stories. Anyway, I hope it's a great trip and I hope Scott spends lots of time at the many Starbucks' throughout the Andes updating this website. Good Luck!
