sbirch, What a great trip! I've enjoyed reading your journals, specially the ones about the Philippines. It's great to see the Phillipines and its culture through your eyes since I was only born there and never had the chance to experienced it like you did. Thanks for the amusing entries and fantastic photos. Salamat, Sam

Hi Shirch, my name's sallehuddin and i'm from malaysia. it was nice that you had visited malaysia and discover its people and places. just to inform you that i'm a malay muslim( guess same with ur friends in malaysia). its not true that men in malaysia cant have long hair and if detected that the authority will cut them. in islam itself it doesnt say that men cant have long hair. however, hugging and kissing between sexes is forbidden in public but i saw malaysians and foreigners still doing it anyway..co-habitating with differnt sexes is prohibited but as usual as anyware else, people still do it here... the enforcement is not as tough as you think. personally, i dont think that malaysians generally had any bad feelings towards americans.. and our bilateral relationship is also very excellent.. most of people in the world are still ignorant of malaysians particularly muslims malaysians. dont be afraid to come to malaysia. its a liberal country and i can assure you that you will be treated well by most of mnalaysians as you had experienced. lastly, thanks for highlighting malaysia and hope to see u when you come around.
