Shelly~ desperate to find a pair of your copper earings, similar to the pendants #9and#11 on your weblite. A friend purchased them at the Denver Art Museum a year ago (or so) and lost 1. She is heartsick and I can't find them anywhere! Please help with a location I might be able to find in the Denver-Boulder area. Thanks~

Hi Shelly - So glad to hear from you already and see your lovely jewelry. I'm sorry we didn't call you while you were waiting at LAX. I thought of you at 7 p.m. but thought it was too early to call. Then we ended up going to bed early and spaced out on doing anything more. Anyway, so glad you got to Bali safe and sound. Didn't hear anything about customs so I'm guessing it went smoothly--at least I hope so. I bet it must feel great to see all your friends again and experience the all the beauty Bali has to offer--connecting with John, and Nengah, having your massages that you love so much, enjoying the great food and restaurants, etc. Have you seen any monkeys lately?? :) Have you rented your motor bike yet??? So what book did you finish in one "lump on a log" day? The book must have been awfully interesting to keep your attention that long. So glad you were able to "veg" for a while because your schedule has been so crazy busy lately. Gary and I are actually sitting in a living room of a B&B in Frisco, CO, looking at our emails and finishing up a lovely gourmet breakfast. For a long time, I've been wanting to see the ice castles mentioned in Silverthorne (next to Frisco and Breckinridge) and finally came across a groupon that allowed us to visit them before the end of March. We went back and forth whether or not Gary was up to it but decided at the last minute it was a good idea to get him out of the house for an "adventure". We arrived yesterday (3/15) and had a very pleasant day. I'll send you pictures via iCloud of the ice castles. Gary is doing well and I think it was good to get out of the house. This is my birthday celebration early. Today, we're going to walk along the creek where there is still bundles of snow in the creek and head to Leadville for a different route home. The weather has been beautiful, making our trip that much nicer. Most everyone we meet are here to ski. I didn't realize there are so many ski areas in this region. Unbelievable how beautiful everything is. Tuesday (3/13), we took Gary to Dr. Wever because he was so depressed and having difficulty with lots of things. Dr. Wever upped his wellbutrin and Dr. Mehall (his cardiologist) adjusted his bp meds once again. Your Dad is now on 2 oral meds and one patch for his blood pressure (down from 5 meds). His bp has been a little higher now (staying around 90-120 rather than in the 80's and even 70's) so that's helping. I think he is a little more encouraged and hopefully will a little more energy and desire to do some things. Looking forward to seeing your jewelry "come alive" as the silversmiths and coppersmiths complete your masterpieces :-) BTW, we loved the movie, "Hugo" in 3D. It had beautiful cinematography. We all talked about wishing you were with us because we all knew you would have loved it too. Hope you have a great day today, Shelly, and hope the internet works pretty good for you so we can exchange pictures and experiences with each other. With love, Cheryl

I LOVE your jewelry. I am aspiring to get to your level of expertise. I am taking classes and learning. I recently resigned from teaching after 20 years and I taught at Laguna college of Art and Design with your father a wonderful man. Congratulations on your work, talent and I really like your writing too, it is fun to read. I have a feeling we will be seeing your work all over the place soon! Steph

Gary and I just finished reading your last 4 journals and thoroughly enjoyed your stories, Shelly. We're so glad to see how many great friends you've made in Bali. Your new jewelry pieces are beautiful!! The bracelets have so many gorgeous stones in them. When we don't think you can get any better, you surprise us with new and innovative designs. I can see how you would be inspired by the environment you're living in. The artwork and gardens are breathtaking! Frightening to hear about the dangers of driving in Bali. Far too many accidents for comfort. Gary and I arrived home from CA on Wednesday. Just resting and cleaning up around the house yesterday and today. Planning to see Kevin tonight. Tried calling Billie but no one answered. I don't know if Pat is still out here or not. Looking forward to seeing you in about a week!

I am really enjoying reading your travel log. As a frequent visitor to The Philippines I can relate well to your experiences there. You really seem to embrace the idea of travelling. Just turning up somewhere and not knowing too much about it ... letting the experience happen naturally ... that is what travelling is all about.

The pictures are so beautiful! I can see why you hang out on Mt. Kintamani; its got some great views. It reminds Gary of his experience in Peru. I'm glad you found some more lower priced "adaptable designer" jewelry in Tagalalang. It sounds like you were having a lot of fun shopping and eating all that great food until you were stopped by the road block. Amazing how cheap it is for a police stop! We're doing great in Cripple Creek. Targhee is still with us but we're planning to tell him today that he needs to "move on" by next Sunday. Things have gotten a little too sweet for him here. Still busy with church, Tai Chi, Wholeness classes and feeding the deer:) They all say "Hi" to you. Gary put a new exhaust system on the Montero. It sounds like a monster driving up the hill. He's trying to quiet it down a bit. Miss you and love you!

I know I want to see you again, maybe in your travels if I cant get to you sooner. As you now know we're in Ireland and you are much welcome. Love Camilla

Wow! Sounds like things are going absolutely wonderful from the get-go! I'm so glad you had a wonderful time with Kimmy and you were able to breeze through customs, thanks to 3 bottles of wine:) I would be jealous if Gary and I were still in Orange County. But...now that we're in Cripple Creek, I find life similar to what you are experiencing now. Peace, calm, beauty, "good food" (cheap food), and nice massages. Oh, I guess our massages aren't exactly as cheap as yours. You have one up on me!!!

Hi. Hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm going travelling in 10 weeks with my boyfriend and we'll be visiting Bali for 30 days. See my blog "jemandtaz" on traveljournals. I was wondering what it was like budgeting over there. We were thinking we'd be spending around £100 a week on hotels (200 USD) between us and around £60 a week (120 USD) on food and busses etc. Would you say this was reasonable? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give us, Jemma and Taz. PS - you're blog's really cool, and really inspiring!!
