Good choice my dear.
I actually am in the town I say. But I am running out of money and hope I do not have to hitchhike home. I was hoping to get Xmas gifts here, but I must save all my cash for food and buses.
Take care. |

See, I told you! It's been about two-three weeks right?
I am also turning around, but I am also finishing my quarter this week and will be traveling the next month. |

Holy crap! I turn around for one second -- killing time with other blog universes -- and suddenly you're back in South America. I laughed when I clinked on the link. I too returned to the States, became all around bored with the endlessly structured rat race, and decided to head back down to South America. I miss the adventure, the sea, the lovely feeling of being the odd gringo out. So back to Brazil I go, to Salvador da Bahia, to bring back the life of the wayward traveler. Such a weird lot we are, preferring a bit of restless chaos to the secure material living of home.
Anyway...will have to catch up on the posts. Keep up the blogging, as I am enjoying the window into other corners of the continent.

If you can't find Stanley a home in Argentina, bring him to the U.S. We will find him a home here. Your latest blog entry brought tears to my eyes. There is neglect and abandonment in the world that you are trying, little by little, to replace with care and love. I will do whatever I can to help. |

Try couchsurfers. Ask the BA group if anyone can take him. |

And you continue to entertain and take me away! Stanley looks adorable....how long 'til you're saying "Here's my babe, Stanley" lol Be careful on your travels and at home. |

(sigh).... so happy you pulled through with a little journaling this afternoon because I was in serious need of some escape from work!!!!! And when I say, "was" I actually mean "am still".... |

You are very talented, Missy! You have the most incredible and unique way of reflecting on our experiences. They seem so much better after reading your blogs! Again, I'm very happy that we are still friends. I really hope that I don't have to read a blog in 4 months about how much you hate me!
Seriously though, I love you. You are such an amazing person, and I love getting to wake up next to you every morning! (That's right, we have no divider between our so-called bedrooms.) |

Sasha,
I work at the same company as your dearest Mom. Your Mom and I like to discuss movies such as "Pan's Labyrinth", "lives of Others", etc. One day, she told me that you were traveling in South America and would like to share with me your blog.
So, here I am, traveling with you through your amazing journey. Sometimes, I feel that I also travel inside your mind.
I have enjoyed your writing tremendously. "Dark Chilean Road" is my favorite among the last 5 pieces. You sounded sentimental; yet your writing was so moving.
How come you haven't fallen in love with a Chilean or Argentinian guy like your friend Jacey did with Dani? Instead, you found a dog with a pair of bluely pure and purely blue eyes like your college boyfriend's.
Now you've found your favorite book café in BA and you are all set.
I love the song of "Don't cry for me Argentina". I used to play it on the piano. Now I am singing it in my head...
Thank you and your Mom for sharing your journey with me. If you ever publishe (and I believe you will one day), I would like to have an autographed copy of your book.
Enjoy your journey and write more! |
