Hey!! It's been fun looking through your journal. Smith Point weathered Hurricane Rita real well. I've heard there was no damage to the pier and minimal damage to a couple of houses. Jo Ann & Scott can give more details. I was mainly worried about the pier on our side of the point. The evacuation of 3 million people was amazing. Everyone has lots of stories. When are y'all coming back? |

Good to hear from you all. I was wondering what you all were up to. A few days ago Hurricane Rita was aiming right at Smiths Point. It is now heading further east, e.g. Jefferson county instead of Chambers) and has lost some of its power. Nonetheless, it will be bad wherever it lands. |

Hello there you wayward travelers!! Yes, it's been a little crazy here in Austin. We ended up taking in about 5,000 refugees (sp?). They've been living at the convention center, but we are told should all be out by this weekend, living in proper housing. I got to go to South Austin Hospital Yesterday, and meet a man who came here as a refugee, and he had just celebrated his 103rd birthday!!!!!! He was a lovely little man!!! Hope your enjoying yourselves!!! Keep the picture comming. |

I am enjoying traveling along with you but wonder...I don't see a four seasons anywhere...Whay's up with that?
Also would like to see or hear about the sky,having just watched "Out of africa" for the umptenth time i wondered where you were ..I didnt see you anywhere.

Anthony and I arrived back in OKC from Jamaica last night around 2:30 am...had a wonderful time and told everyone about the adventures you guys are having! Can't wait to see you at the point...we now have a beach there named "The Nude Beach" in front of "The Reef" thanks to grandkids!!! |
