Byenvini! Welcome!
I’m a Photographer and English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher from Niagara Falls, Canada.
After two short term missions trips to the Mission of Hope in Haiti I decided to take the plunge and move to Haiti full time in August 2006. I am the programs director for the Hope House orphanage. We have 60 beautiful children to keep busy. We have E.S.L. classes, a tutoring program, sports, arts and weekend trips among other things. I’m pretty sure I have the best job in Haiti.
No one can deny Haiti’s violence history, and yes I am aware of the dangers. I believe in the Mission of Hope and am excited to be a part of a change in Haiti. We view the children of Haiti as the country’s greatest asset. These children will change Haiti. With a good education, a loving support system, and solid morals and values these children will have a firm foundation to build on.
Haiti is a beautiful country full of awesome people. I am so blessed to be here. Thank you for sharing in this amazing experience with me. Please email me with any questions or comments. I would love to hear from you. Until then.
peace, love and safe travels
Rachel
