Ryan I just checked in to see if you had any new adventures and there it was - "Hockey Night in Canterbury". I instantly cracked a smile and clicked on the link out of excitement and curiousity. You played hockey Ryan!! That entry was the most touching and sincere that you have wrote yet. It gave me goosebumps reading it and I seriously think that entry could be published in the sports page as it is a prime example of Canadian pride and true 'love of the game'.
I'm glad you're still having the time of your life and I hope the adventures are just as memorable as "Hockey Night in Caterbury" was for you!
Take care!!
Ps. I love the sank it looks really inviting! |

Hey Ryan;
Your Mom just gave me your web address and I am veerry impressed. I have spent the last hour or so reading everything there is to read, and looking at your pictures. It sounds as though you are having an absolutley amazing time in absolutley amazing parts of the world. What an experience! I am so jealous.
I had a short visit with your Mom and Dad on Sunday day and they were filling me in about some of your experiences, (smile). They also tell me you are keeping a journal. What a story you will be able to write when you get home, and what memories. Wow! We think of you often, wondering where your wander lust has led you, and always wishing you well. Now that I have your web address I will check in from time to time.
Take care dear boy.
Love;

Ryan,
You really do need to rethink your career. I think you need to become a writer, your stories have been oustanding. I sometimes can imagine being there with you and seeing some of the sites you are describing. Your Christmas story brought tears to my eyes (good thing no one came to my door while I was reading it). We really do miss you and can't wait for you to get home. See you in a few months (you are coming back, right?). Take care and please travel safe.
Love Aunty Sally |

Hiya RyRy, so good to read the updates. Gotta say your X-mas story gave me the tearies. As an Aussie I can safely say we really do not know how to celebrate X-mas like you described. It is different, the ambience just isn't there but in saying that you enabled me to remember (and this coming from someone who chose not celebrate Christmas anymore based on religious choices) why x-mas is important, even if you're not religious. It's not about the gift giving, or the drinking or even the celebration, its about all those people that you share your life with. It's about taking that one piece of time out of your busy year to give thanks to your year, to give thanks to your family and to give love to all around. It's not about Santa or tinsel, beer & bbq's or even incredibly bad regurgitated x-mas songs nor is it about the commericalism or even about religion, and you helped me see that. Even though I will continue not to celebrate I will now be able to extend my opened heart to those that celebrate because I will understand the true meaning. Thankyou my friend. Lotsa love to ya. xoxo |
