I saw this show last night called Extreme Towns in the Travel Channel. I was sooo amazed! I've never seen anything like this. This is awesome! This one guy dug out another step in his walk way for his mother in law, and found $1.2 million in opal. I was like WOW!

Superb lot of photos, thoroughly enjoyed looking at them all. Will be back another time to see if there is more.

Some of my students and I found a picture of your town in a Ripley's Believe It Or Not book. We were curious to see more pictures of Coober Pedy and read more about the underground homes. This is fasinating to us. !!!

Happy Birhday Mike. Funny to think you were only 28 when we last saw you. Not long now so make the most of the last few days.We are all looking forward to having you back; no doubt Villa's continuing success will help to assuage the pain of having to earn a living again. Take care.

Hi Mike, came across your journal whilst occupying myself on the internet during a particularly boring school holiday!!!! I haven't laughed this much in ages. You seem to be having the time of your life. Take care and my bro Ste says hi! Ali

Having read the latest journal (Bradman, balls...)Mother's getting a bit concerned about the deterioration in your language and also the negative references to the Welsh. What happened to the years of brainwashing?? And what happened to the 7 year old who insisted on washing his hands in the cistern in the toilet at Wembley as there was no washbasin? No showers for several days? What's going on???? And you didn't have enough musical ability to get into the junior school choir or have violin lessons as you couldn't hit 'middle C'!!! Roll on 26th Jan - can't cope with all these changes. Love Mum

Hola Mike! I wasn´t very willing to work today and I´ve gone through you website for several hours... Each day I am more jealous of you... Last summer I went to southern China and the north of Vietnam, though probably I remember with more pleasure the train trip from Sapa to Vietnam... Enjoy travelling around Australia with your great red car!! Merry Christmas and see you soon Take care

Hi Mike. Good to catch up with you and glad to know that this trip is not all pleasure...steel into a hot furnace sounds grim! Pictures make us all feel very jealous most notably the motor home. Have an enjoyable festive season...eat drink and be merry for tomorrow you return to the UK. See you before long.

Mike, I have to be honest I hate you! Been looking through the pictures and makes me depressed realising we live in this crap hole called the UK. Will be making the pilgrimmage to OZ next summer I think. Then whether I come back is anyones guess!! Hopefully you will not have let me down and done copious amounts of surfing out there! Hope your good mate and hopefully see you when you get back! Tom
