If I introduce myself, my home town is Kurunegala one of ancient kingdom of Sri Lanka. Kurunegala surrounded with lot of mountains and middle of the town there is a beautiful tank. My home located at malkaduwawa village. just pass 3KM along Nigambo road. Kurunegala is busy town but my village malkaduwawa has entirely different characteristics from the town. Behind my home there is a little mountain with 100 -150 hectare Jungle. I can remember when I was Grade 5 at school I have started climb that mountain with my friends. At that time it was a big challenge for us. When I was Grade 8 at school I have started bird watching activities with my friends. But at that time my scope was limited to my village. After finishing my studies at school I have broken the limitations and started to explore the beauties of this little paradise.
Now I'm a Software Engineer as a profession and live in Colombo. That environment I have described above make another nature and wild life lover for this country. Photography is one of my hobbies (http://www.flickr.com/photos/manojwasantha/). I have visited lot of areas of Sri Lanka and hope to visit other areas as soon as possible. But unfortunately there are some limitations due to the war operated at North and East areas. Some national parks totally closed due to that war. Gal Oya, Maduru Oya national parks and Kumana, Vilpattu Bird Centuries are some of those.
I have shared my experience with you by posting some memorable photos and the details stories also. So… I think it will helpful to beginners who just started to explore this beautiful country SRI LANKA.
