I was actually lookijg for accomodation in Romania when I stumbled across your ordeal with English banks. My heartfelt condolences I know exactly how it is. I was in that situation three years ago as an ex-pat in the UK - dreadful. Just wait until you go looking for a credit card - with perfect credit ratings in another country- but unknown in the UK. And as for British Gas - they even told me they wanted payment for gas in advance as they could not run a UK credit check for me. Lucily I am now back in Berlin and civilization as far as customer relations and care is concerned. I just hope Chester makes up for it in other ways for you!!
