Hey!
Welcome to my travel journal. My current trip is a three month stint teaching English in Yangshuo, China. I will try to write as often as possible to keep all of my family and friends back home up-to-date.
I created this travel journal during my first trip to China during which I worked for three months as an intern in Hangzhou and spent the final four as a student at Peking University. Laowai, Chinese for foreigner, is the word I encountered most on busses, streets, in stores and any other places where I crossed Chinese. They would excitedly point out "laowai!". Sometimes I'd return the stare and exclaim "zhongguoren!" (Chinese!) either eliciting laughs or confusion. I decided to swallow the inevitable truth that I was ultimately a laowai for the next seven months--and thus you have my traveljournals.net username.
Stateside, I am a student at the University of South Carolina where I study international business and finance.
