Asia? Don't Mind if I Kathmandu!
The hardest part of planning any trip is finding someone you can travel with and when Stephanie gave up on her long and extensive search she settled on me. Anyone crazy enough to put up with me for seven months will do fine travelling in Asia.
Our personalities should make for an interesting trip. In some ways we are very similar. In others we couldn't be more different. Together I guess we have the bases covered.
Six countries in seven months. We begin with the well-trodened Southeast Asian Loop, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and back to Thailand again. Hopefully after three months in SE Asia we'll be ready for two in Nepal.
Giving up public transportation in Nepal we'll be trekking to Mt. Everest and then to the Annapurna region. Barring any Moaist kidnappings or freak trekking mishaps we'll be off to India.
It will be June by the time we reach India and the beginning of the the hottest part of the year. We've heard and read many stories about India and it was the country that we mostly based this trip around (obviously not the weather part). India should not disappoint and by the time we reach it we should be seasoned enough travellers to enjoy every aspect or run screaming back to North America.
I've always said that I would kick ass at the Amazing Race, now it's time to prove it. I just wish there was a million bucks waiting for me when I got home.
