I am just posting this to my own page, because I am sick of seeing Ollie's post being on the top.
As if Oliver's achievement wasn't amazing enough, I'd like to add that he did it in a pair of Puma trainers!!! Not even hiking shoes! Isn't that incredible?
HAHA - just poking a little fun Oll'...hope you and Bex are enjoying the South Pacific. |

Quote
"That's pretty much what we did for the next couple of days. We huddled around the fire, drank tea, ate instant noodles, looked out at Everest, and relaxed in all the warm blankets."
Mr Kevin, you appear to have missed off a certain member of your groups attempt at base camp 2.
Whilst people where sitting around in their warm blankets a brave young mountainereer going by the name of Ollessendro Del Piero, accompnied by his guide Tenzin Nooboo, made a valient, yet failed attempt, on Everest base camp 2.
This was a 8km (16 round trip) from 5200m above sea level to 5800m. However, Del Piero turned round agonisingly close to Camp 2 due to sheer exhaustion.
"Its not always about making the summit, being a great climber is about knowing when to turn around and make it back down alive" quote Andy Hall (4 time climber of Everest). |

Hey Kev and Jen!! Whats up! I know you guys are having an amazing time and I'm incredibly envious of your adventure. Kev, Major Teznuski got promoted to Lt. Col Teznuski. Thats about the biggest news I have to share from my end. Everything is same old same old. I wish you two the best, and have a great time. Hit me with an e-mail if you can.

Hi Kevin, your Dad and Mom were over this evening (it is Mary's birthday) and Dad got me to your page to check out some of the travel photos.....which are remarkable. He says that Jen is the photographer and tell her for me that she does great work. What kind of equipment does she have.
We are quite jealous of your remarkable trip. I've particularly always wanted to go to Australia and New Zealand....and you are doing it at the right time in your life...so enjoy every moment and every photo op. Tell Jen that all her photos are terrific but my very favorite is the haunted temple (the cascading red columns and shadows).....WOW.
Greetings from all the Wacholder family. Mike. |
