Wow!! What a party and what fun we had! I want you to know how much I appreciate your traveling woes to get to New Orleans in a timely manner! What must the Irish couple thing about 'crazy Americans'???
I've been cooking the 'Gumbo Z'Herbes' for new years. We wish you were here to enjoy with us-keep us up for midnight. We will be looking for you in Times Square tonight. We thought we saw you on the Today Show this morning-or maybe yesterday? My laziness has me confused. |

Dearest Kate, Have spent the most glorious weekend with your precious Mpmmy and Daddy. Had THE most gorgeous weather ever for football in Death Valley! LSU won!!! Alas, the Saints did not, but it was a day game and we were all together and that made it wonderful...spent some interesting times in the parking lot, but your Mother and Poppa will fill you in on all of that...saw Hunter, Will, Brad and Sam and a huge tailgating party Sat. night and again on Sunday afternoon. I've just dropped them off in the French Quarter and will meet them at the Bourbon House for lunch before they go to the airport. Can't believe you didn't get to eat one oyster. What's up with that??? 2 days I said!!! We are preparing for the LSU-Tennessee game this evening. Yes, on Monday. Had to change the game for Hurricand Rita. I think that's about enough of this hurricane onslaught. We are going to have nachos, guacamole, chips, hot dogs, chili, and ranch style beans. Strictly gourmet stuff. Can't wait for your arrival and view the 2000 pictures you must have by now. Love you, Papa |

Greetings from Texas! Went to market this AM with all and then on to see Gertie...she tlked a lot about you, as we all did, and she said how she would have loved to have been with you! We all agreed that we would like to have gone along too! Aren't you glad this is your trip??? The Oyster Festival sounded like great fun...my friend, Nick, was the Nationa; Oyster Eating Contest winner a few years back...he alos won the crawfis eating contest...don't know any world champeene suckers! Hope you bus trip wasn't to bad, but those tours can be a "cattle call'!
Think I have survived Rita without any damage but don't know for sure until I get more reports. Just talked to TUTU and they were using a generator!
