Hey kate! I'm in Aruba....ok no I'm not but you can imagine what it would be like. Anyway, I hope all is well and that you are having a good time. I've been at school a little over a month now at WCU. I like it a lot and classes aren't too bad....yet anyway. Alright well keep in touch and stay safe.

so i'm sitting in class in a bad mood since i'm VERY behind and getting no help on my project for my other class. Nothing much is new here, got to go to the football game last saturday and brought phelan. . . she really enojoyed it! And it was a good game too! I'm finally going home this weekend which i'm really excited about cause i just really need a break from this place! Phelan and i are bringing her roomie up to DE and we are gonna stop and get aaron too! So it should be a good weekend. I've been working a lot and awating my HUGE paycheck this friday! OK well class is starting. Look forward to more news and especially pictures! Good luck there and hope you are learning a lot and having fun! |

Hey Kate! How's it going? I hope things are going well for you. I just had a meeting with some Peace Corp people, and the guy was very adamant about telling me that just because I spoke a little Chinese, it does not mean I have a significantly higher chance of being sent to China (if I were to elect to sign up to begin with). I'm kinda torn. On the one hand, I really want to volunteer, to help some people ... but at the same time, 2 years is a big commitment, and if I can't get any kind of garuantee on being sent to China, I'm tempted to take one of those 6-to-18-month programs at Beijing Univeristy, like I took 2 summers ago. I dunno. I aslo got in touch with some people here in Philadelphia that run a program called City Year, where you take a year to volunteer right here in Philadelphia. I don't know, I'm kinda conflicted. Any advice? Feel free to email me if you have the time ... matthew.f.smith@villanova.edu. Anyway, I hope things are going well over there. Hope this month and a half goes fast for you until you are able to get back to a PC and communicate again. Here in South Florida we are trying hard to get out of any hurricans that come our way. Katrina and Rita are and continue to be dangerous storms. Will continue to keep in touch. |
