Kate! Just read up on some of the recent journal entries. You took some fantastic pictures, the one with the mountains is by far one of my favorites! and the cultural differences sound pretty intense coming from over here, its alomost like a culture shock just trying to imagine how different it is over there. But anyways, I hope that you are enjoying yourself (and your homemade peanut butter...which sounds great!) and keep up the peace! |

Kate, Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you too. What you are doing there makes all our trials and tribulations here seem trivial! I'm sorry your birthday passed me by...I didn't do much for my girls either...but I hope yours was happy and recognized in a Timorese fashion :) How (& what) do they celebrate there? Does Christmas have any significance? What about the new year? I'm fascinated by all your jounral entries...you need to keep a book title in mind! Keep up the great work and let your "family" there know that we think they are very lucky to have you. P.S. what kind of things would be good in a care package and how best would it be sent? Have you received anything from home yet? We miss you :) |

Hey Kate... up here visiting Santa in the arctic :) I hope you had a WONDERFUL christmas. We really, really, really missed you here. I cant tell you how proud I am of you! my little peace keeper :) I am amazed just thinking about all that you are learning from the Timorese and all that they are learning from you. I'm sure they are very thankful! I just got back to Blacksburg late tonight and am unpacking. (too much laundry to do!) Nothing new here, just savoring every day before winter break is over. I hope you have a very happy new year! We miss you! and keep up the good work :)!! |

Merry Christmas kate from the whole kelly family! Hope you got to celebrate! My dad says he will give you a long Harley ride when you get home. But you might have to remind him:) We really enjoy all the pictures and journal enteries so definately keep them coming!! Miss you lots and still VERY proud of you!
