Hi there... You don't know me, but I've been going to the Dominican Republic every summer since 2005 with a group called Hero Holiday. The first year we went we worked in Ascension, and I just decided to google "Ascension D.R" thinking that there's probably lots of small villages called Ascension in the country, but I found the picture of the inside of the church that you have and it's the same place!!! I recognize the medical building too. I was 16 when I went, and there was a little boy who clung to me all week named Jose... he was beautiful and one day i'm going to find him again... (I thought maybe I'd find him in your pictures). I do reccognize some of the faces in them though - from Ascension and the dump as well. ...Funny how small the world is.
Good too know such a tiny village still exists to people in the world. | | | |
