Very interesting site... I was surprised to learn that you paid a mandatory extra "processing" fee on a Tica Bus - especially since they don't mention anything about it on their company web site. Little details like that are very helpful.

Hey...I'm doing a spanish project on Nicaragua and we have to bring in a souvenir that we could've gotten there and I don't know what to bring in. Could you please give me some ideas? Thanks

We also did the Sky Trek Canopy Tour in Monteverde, it was the best tour we did in Costa Rica. The forest was simply gorgeous. In Santa Elena, we stayed at the friendly and helpful Pension Santa Elena. It was teaming with backpackers & the commune kitchen was THE place to meet people. Great jornal, fun to read!

Hello there Mary & John. What exciting adventures the two of you are going through. I envy you, it just brings back recollections of my overseas stint. I guess the "pink eyes" did not allow any picture taking. All of it sounds so cool. I wonder after the language lessons, you will be tempted to post your journals in the language. Would love to see some pictures. I am planning to travel in the next couple of weeks, both business and vacation, if all goes well, but in the meantime you take care of yourselves, and enjoy the serenity.

Hello Mary, Although I am excited for you and John to embark on your new adventure, needless to say, I will miss you a lot. I've felt we were on the same learning curve at Ford, joining on the same day, learning GBS together etc. etc. But I wish you and John the very best and know you that you have a wonderful future in store in Latin America. Thanks for your friendship.
