Hi I was just looking up tiwi beach when I found your blog. Looking at your photos you are doing the same trip I id in 1989 to 1991, traveling around Africa for 3 years and it brought back many happy memories, tiwi beach was my favourite hideaway we used to spend weeks there cos once your arrived you never left. Glad to see Twiga Lodge is still ging but sad the other cafes have closed. Enjoy your travels.

I just googled gorilla trek and your travel blog popped up. I have to say your journal was a great read and the pictures are fantastic. I am going to Africa this time next year and your pictures gave me an idea of whats in store!

Just booked our tickets on the Nairobery to Mombassa train - I certainly hope it is still the experience it was when you traveled on it. Looks like you had quite a big trip. We're heading from Cape Town to Nairobi, but one continent is enough for us. |

I was just checking out your pics because I read this great book about the Congo. It was fiction but based on some reality. I found it very fascinating and decided to research a few things on the web, among them pictures of the Congo. It was called "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver.

How lucky can any two people get?
I wish I could leave my tiny little piece of the world and travel too. I've dreamed of the Congo and being with the gorillas most all of my 42 years. But I'm poor. I'll never get to go anywhere. Have fun for me, *******pft |
