Welcome to my travel pages! My friends and I were in Ecuador from 10/26/06 through 11/04/06. We were able to travel around the country and see a lot of cool sites! We stayed with my relatives who are the most amazing people I have ever known. They are so full of life and love that even my friends wanted to join the, "Castillo" clan. They are also full of energy!! Up at the crack of dawn and down to bed around 3:00am! I had an awesome time visiting the country and my relatives and am looking forward to going back VERY soon!! I wanted to share my good time with anyone interested...
We started in Quito and stayed with my uncle Walter. For the 1st 3 days we traveled to Otavalo, Mindo, Cayambe, Midad del Mundo, San Pablo and central Quito.
The 4th day we took off to Guayaquil to stay with my uncle Julio. That night they had a, "Welcome Gringas" party where the whiskey flowed! We went sight seeing and out to, "Las Peñas" on Tuesday. On Wednesday my uncle Ivan took us to Salinas (the beach) for the day and then we came back to the city for my cousin José to take us out to the clubs. On Thursday we went sight seeing and then they had a going away party for us where the whiskey flowed some more. On Friday we went back to Quito for a night of good food, good wine and of course good whiskey. Saturday we came back to the US exhausted and in much need of sleep.
