Scotty... Next time you have problems with Hungarian or Romanian officials, just say "Boy, I'll bet things would go a lot smoother if the Russians were still in charge of this dump." They'll appreciate your constructive criticism. |

Scott, maybe the girl mistook you for Anthony from Who's the Boss?...remember when you used to look like him...
Or, maybe she was on a scavenger hunt, and had to get a picture of the stupidest-looking guy she could find...
Both equally plausible theories... |

Scotty, judging from the photo, I'd say the little girl mistook you for either David Hyde Pierce, Alger Hiss, or the guy on the far left in Van Gogh's "The Potato Eaters". Your trip looks great man, I wish I was there. (except for any smells that may be generated by the vomiting/diharroea) |

Hi Everyone,
Sorry we have been so behind with message and picture posting, but we promise to catch everything up in the next couple days ...it seems the Morrocan Flu (aka food poisoning) and Spanish heat had us lagging but we be back in top form soon! :)
also, Scott (Hayton) is in competition with Scott Beattie for number of hits on our sites so he wants everyone to check our site as much as possible so that we win!!!!! |

CINQUE TERRE TIPS: have the limoncello, pick some lemons and cut them up in your beer (and water bottles! beats stale water!), check out the random free and not-free beaches (ie/ between the 3rd and 4th towns, starts with a G: i think it's a nudist/ gay? beach - good times). monterosso has beautiful beaches - if it's hot and sunny, just lounge there for a day. the seafood is nuts, and very umm--- still-alive-looking?? i got stung by a jellyfish so watch out, haha.
i just got back from rio maggiore yesterday - the place was incredible. ENJOY and can't wait to see you friday -- am i picking u up at an airport??? |

Agreed... Scotty, if you end up going to my beloved Yugoslavia, I challenge you to indulge in the local sport. Its similar to soccer, except instead of balls they use metal discs and cannisters painted an olive drab colour. You play the game by locating one of these objects, which the natives cleverly bury in the ground next to main roads, and kick it as hard as you can. Alternately, you can see how many oil refineries and military installations you can photograph before the cops get you. |

I think that, as the traditional purpose of a guestbook is to wish the travellers well, and to tell them how jealouse we are, and to ooh and awe and their marvelous pictures.
Perhaps we should shake things up a bit here.
Although I dont think that I have met Sam, I think he is on to something. I think the new purpose of this guestbook should be to post challenges of sorts to these fine travelling folk, to which they can subsequently post photos of their triumphant successes or brutal and embarrassing defeats. As im sure Eastern Europe is fairly boring as it is, this might shake things up a little for scott and danielle.
All in favor??? |

Scotty ... Rent a car, throw some march music in the tape deck, and slowly ride across Holland, standing out the sunroof, waving and throwing chocolate bars to passersby. PS ....I think I speak for everyone here at the guestbook when I say we need some detailed pictures of the red light district, just to get the true feel of it. |
