Good Morning, Got the computer to work again but don't know how long it's going to last. Our Wisc/Ill trip with girls was great. We wore them out but we returned exhausted also. Was so great retirning to Swallow's nest. the fall colors have exploded. Our MAPLE is a fiery maroon red, the dogwood is a green red and the aspens are varring shades of lemon yellow to ochre. The corn stalks are dried up and I placed some in the front yard for fall decorations. THe sage and scrub bushes are in glorious bloom with yolk yellow flowers. The air has finally cleared from the Aug/Sept fires and the mountain stands in regal pose. Have begun to use the studio and it is awesome. The adoptive cat Nutmeg has graduated to spending the nights in the house. Kaya and Cheyenne predicted that Granny the old softy would have him in the house. Guess they have people observation skills. Hope you're having a fun visit in Japan. I suspect it's hard to realize that this travel adventure is almost over. God bless and keep you safe and healthy.m0m |

Andy,
How did you like the giant prawns for dinner with your pad thai? Try any beer Cheng? Give us an update on the military coup. We are ready to see another posting.

Hi son,While you were watching fish we have been watching 3 racoons on the deck. earlier had one fawn resting under the pine tree and then a buck with two does and three fawns thought our grass was a great way to graze. We almost had frost last night but during the day it warms up to the high 70's. Fall is definitely in the air. The cabinets are installed and I have begun to fill them with my quilting fabric and craft items. Dad watched the Packers today and shed a tear as they are not winning any games. Love to you m0m |

Hi son, Your accounts continue to educate me and fill me with a desire to travel with a backpack and a water bottle. The most recent walk dad and i have done was to Glass Mountain down the road from Medicine Lake. this area is near the Lava Beds National Park and it is facinating. You travel through forested areas and then there are lava tubes, rock outcropings amid eruption rubble and then you see veins of obsidian, large and small boulders of the stuff. As you walk the trail there are small pieces and large chunks what an awesome experience. The garden continues to provide us with tomatoes and chard and green beans and my flower bed has sweetpea blossoms and roses. The sunflowers are bloomimg and others have seeded so the birds can get their fill. We have a skunk that comes up on the deck looking for the cat food that is out for the feral cat we have adopted( Nutmeg is his name).
dad is working on the cabinets for the studio and I hope that by this weekend I can actually start using the room. Love and prayers are sent to you. m0m and dad |

Hi Uncle Andy! This is David. Lol, I almost wrote "uncle" in German. I still have to remind myself to say things in English sometimes.
Your travels sound very fun and the pictures are amazing. I also kept a blog while I was in Germany. I definitely recognize the stuff from the World Cup. Italia, whoaoh! Italia, whoaoh!
It'll be fun to talk to you when you get back. Pax,
David |
