Bienvenidos todos!

I started this site to keep my friends and family up to date with my goings on during my 2 years of service as a Community-based Environmental Management volunteer as part of the Peace Corps program in Peru.

I recently contemplated going back through my blogs and editing out any sentences I may have written in a negative, frustrated haze filled with ethnocentric bad feelings toward my host country or its people but decided against it. Why? To change what I have written would be an unfair representation of what the life of a Peace Corps volunteer is. Every single day can contain both extreme highs and lows...successes and failures...and that is what is represented in this blog...the good with the bad. I just want to mention here that Peru is an amazing country filled with wonderfull and caring people and I love in here (no matter what frustrations might come accross in my blogs). The people here have opened up their lives to this strange U.S. gringa and cared for me as one of their own. I will be eternally grateful for my experience here and will keep the people I have met in my heart forever.
