I've been to Perhentian Island last week. It was a wonderfull expirience eventhought it is just a short trip. The staff of the resorts are friendly, even the manager also very friendly. The rooms is small n clean but enough for 3 of us. The food is ok but not much choise (understood that we are far from the city)....i hope i can come again to perhentian island..maybe with your group..alert me when u r in malaysia again..never try redang island?
