So, you thought I was done traveling for the year didn't you?
Well, stranger things have happened but I'm not gonna complain this time!
So, here I am...off to Bangkok with an old friend I've known since 1990. We met in Germany while I was stationed there. He's from FL as well and we've stayed in close contact ever since. Our German friends call him Joe1 (or big Joe) and I'm Joe2 (or little Joe)!
Joe1 has been promising me a trip to Alaska for years but it always just fell through. This year, we were right on it...was even looking up hotels when suddenly I asked him, "Why are we going to Alaska in the WINTER?" He even wanted to go to Fairbanks! After learning it is -40 there, I said, "heck no Joe I can't go!". So, he changed gears on me and we decided to do the extreme opposite and go to Bangkok instead. Wonderful compromise huh!?
I told him I just have 3 things I gotta see/do:
* I want to see elephants in the streets
* I gotta go scuba diving on some remote island
* I must go shopping for new Prada or Guici accessories!
