hi carolyn - just been catching up with your amazing photos of the silverbacks, what a fantastic opportunity, and brilliant to share it with your mum. I hope we get chance to catch up when you are home, before you disappear elsewhere! Just to say thanks for the report about crossing the border from Uruguay to Brazil at Rivera. I'm about to use the same crossing (coming from Melo, Uruguay to Rivera) and had a couple of (not so) important questions (can I actually cross the border, change money there, etc.), which were all answered by your very interesting blog entry.
And I am a bit wary about my Portugese language skills (non existent) as you were. At least I learned a word from you... :)
Wish me luck with the grumpy Brazilian customs officer...
