I appreciate your efforts in Mairana. I've worked on a peanut project helping growers there. I hope to get back when things settle down enough to allow it. It's a wonderful place, but living there would not be easy. THANK YOU! Best wishes for you and your project in the D.R.!

o.k. thanks for making me feel better about getting up in the middle of the night and having to jiggle the water that kept running in the toilet a couple of weeks ago! I'm not sure I can go to pit toilets again after all these years, but you have to be having fun now with a stool in your apt. right? I love your pics, even the ones that I missed from Spain. There are only about 4 weeks left in the semester for me and I guard my time jealously, but I wanted to tell you hello, I'm thinking of you and will drop in on your site again. Take care!!

Hello My Dear! I am so happy to know that you are in Bolivia safe and sound. Thank you for your immediate post. I have been talking about you to my friends here this past week. I can't believe you had a layover at 13,000 feet! I'm at 7000 and that tired me out! I hope you get a chance to get some real Ayamara flava flava out there. Get some Mate de coca while you're at it. I'm excited to know about what you will be doing in the coming days. My sis is going to Costa Rica this summer and I hope I can somehow visit you both. That would seriously rock my world. Keep me, in Navajo land, posted! Love, PRI P.S. My town's not on this program's database! P.P.S. Damn those hippies!

Hey Love, Great to know you're keeping me posted about your travels to the first world! ;) Yea...watch out for them Euros...they're feisty when you exchange dollars for them. They'll walk all over u. ;0) You're probably going to add a lisp to your Spanish if you wanna fit in too. Either way, you will have a lot of knowledge and experience you've gained by doing all the hard work these past 4 years. Has it been 4 years of college already? (AHAA!! We're so old!) I love u. Keep in touch. pri

Hello World Traveler, The photos from Kenya Africa were a delight! I am on my way to Nyahururu for a while and was wanting to know what to expect. The pictures helped a lot. I can not wait to learn Swahili...your lesson was a nice touch too! Anyway, if you have any insight please send a message. I will be there for approximately 15 months.

Hello Sorry to bother you but I am trying to find anyone with information about a missing person. Jenny (Jen) Pope was last heard of in Banos, Ecuador on the 9th January 2006. You have been contacted because it is thought that you were in Ecuador at around this time. Jenny was intending to travel to Quito but never arrived. Her son Stefan and husband Dave are in Banos at the moment and are struggling to find out any information at all. If you were in the area at the time (Jan 06) or maybe if you know of anyone who visited the area at this time, please would you contact the following email address giving any information at all, no matter how small – it could be relevant. If you are not able to help us please forgive this intrusion. For more information, please visit: http://www.jennypopeappeal.org Thank you Rebecca

Hi - from the way you are dressed, it looks like the place all of us "northerners" wish we were right with you! It sounds like you are experiencing how the "upper" class culture lives and thinks. It is facinating to hear your perspectives. Keep us posted.

Hey girl! You are now in my most favorite country of my deepest desires to visit. I'm so glad you reached safe and sound. I can't believe it took u 18 hrs to get out of the country. Tell your papa I said Hola. I think the mitochondrial person is your mama, but I forgot biology. Too bad we didn't get to talk before u left. Anyway, I'm going to miss you but it warms my heart to think about you and Eqador at the SAME TIME!! Read SAVAGES, by John Kane when you have time and keep us posted! I <3 you, my love! -PRI

I googled 'pictures from kenya' and there you were !! Am a kenyan living here in norway, and it is great you had a good time in kenya, and lived the life close to the people. The 'no deo' line had me rolling on the floor, because I was accused of it on my first trip to America many years ago. But guess what ? it cuts both ways. The great Afro American comedian, Richard Prior, illustrated his trip to kenya this way: Riding in a car in Kenya with a group of American friends one day, they came across a Maasai warrior hitchhiking. They stopped and offered him a lift (ride). The B.O. eminating from the Maaasai was overwhelming. After a couple of minutes, the maasai pleaded with his benefactors to let him out of the car quickly...He could not stand the stench of the Deo's, so you see, one man's deo is another man's... Have a great time in kenya.
