I found this website by chance but I liked it straight away. Really enjoyed browsing through journals. I had some pictures from the summer holiday and I wanted to share them so it resulted in this.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
When people hear the name of Bosnia and Herzegovina mentioned immediately they think of war, concentration camps, massacres and refugees. Unfortunately that is true, terrible things did happen and I believe we should remember it well so it does not happen again.
I really enjoyed driving in B&H. Bosnia is a very mountainous country covered by woods. I especially liked places on mountain tops where the view is just so nice and relaxing. There are lots of twisty and curvy roads. The roads are generally in a good order but drivers are a story in its own right. I saw some nut cases, overtaking in very dangerous places, creating danger for all road users and plainly risking their lives. Although I was distracted by the nice scenery I had to be very focused on the road. There are many rivers too, with clear waters and splendid waterfalls. The capital city, Sarajevo, was destroyed during the war but its beauty is still visible. Many new buildings have been built and some old buildings restored. I took some pictures from surrounding hills, the city looks much better than my photographs.
