Today a relatively well-dressed woman with a baby in a carriage stopped me in the street and asked for some money because she had nothing to eat. I was a little confused and told her (truthfully) that i didn't have any cash but offered her one apples. She wasn't too impressed and wanted to know if I had any nectarines instead!
