Huacachina

Huacachina was just amazing - what a great start to the holiday! After a braai at the hostel, we got to bed just before sunrise and awoke to a beautiful hot day. We spent the morning lounging around the pool and on the hammocks and met a great crowd of people. We headed out into the desert at 4pm on the dune buggy - our driver was insane and made sure that we got a good dose of adrenaline! We started off sandboarding on baby slopes but progressed to dunes that were so steep that we couldn't even see the bottom! We ended up with sand EVERYWHERE (it seemed like a good idea at the time to go down face first...). After 2 hours we were exhausted and headed down the last dune to our hostel after a spectacular sunset.

That night was another great party, and we ended up at the 'disco' in 'town' where the only people present were the people from the hostel! A word of warning - shots in Peru are served in a triple shot glasses...nasty!
