Mallorca to Ibiza

After Cala Figuera we headed west up the coast towards Palma again. We stopped in at the port of Andratx, where we ended up staying until Saturday, as we had to sit out some bad weather. A friend of mine, who lives in Palma and who I sailed with at varsity, came to the boat for dinner on the Friday night, and after some sangria and a couple of bottles of wine, it seemed like a logical idea for him to sail with us to Ibiza the next day and catch the ferry back on Sunday! So Saturday morning we set off with an extra sailor on board. The sea was quite bumpy from the storm the previous day, but we had some nice breeze and got some good sailing in. We anchored in Portinatx that night, another exquisite anchorage. A night on the town left us feeling very sorry for ourselves the next day, and the barmen in Portinatx a lot more knowledgeble about how to make Springboks! We moved on to a marina in San Antonio on Sunday, as we had to do some important things like laundry and have hot showers (the hot showers unfortunately did not materialise). Another big night and I was up at the crack of dawn the next day to catch my flight back to London. Horrible to leave but at least I have another holiday and not work to look forward to!
