Our last day in the wilderness sees us head through the forest to Barramundi Gorge for a dip in a beautiful rock pool overlooking a picturesque creek. Tiredness from the exertions of the last few days begins to kick in and I end up relaxing there and enjoying the sun & silence for a couple of hours before we start making our way back to Darwin via the gold-mining town of Pine Creek for a quick meal in the pub which featured in that classic 80s film adored by Australians everywhere Crocodile Dundee!!

We arrive back into Darwin late in the evening. Wish I could have stayed out there for longer...

I say farewell for now and many, many thanks to Lou, who has been a ‘legend’ to say the least over the last few days. I look forward to a weekend relaxing in the sunshine before the next stage of my journey commences on Monday...
