...(continued) so after i finished my pepsi which wasnt orangina, and we paid the bill, etc, we headed down Gauguin Ave to shop. and also to take allison to a walk-in doctor because she had selfishly managed to infect something. in retrospect, this was very stupid. long story short, we left the doctors office an hour later without our kidneys. kidding. but we did leave... and went next door into a black pearl shop. they had this really expensive shell and glass frog sculpture sitting on a display table, so dad, being the logical sort that he is, picked it up and pretended to make it fly, making grunting throatal noises which he apparently thought were the sounds a frog makes. but no, they really werent. the girls who worked there started spazzing and yelling in french trying to get him to put it down but he took their outbursts for amusement and cranked up the grunt volume several notches. mom grabbed the frog from him and we left in a haste. beautiful. we hopped on Le Truck and headed back to the Sheraton with the intention of grabbing a pizza for dinner. low and behold the pizza place is closed for lunch and dinner. that makes sense...i mean, the pizza people have to eat too! (???) so instead we ate at the hotel restaurant and were pretty much the only one's in there. i ordered some "froo froo" drink with pineapple, passion fruit, banana, coconut, and the kitchen sink in it and everyone else followed suit. when it got to dad he ordered "that drink that i saw in the lobby" waitress 1 didnt know so she asked #2 to go check what it was. she came back to report that it was fruit punch. dad didnt believe them. "no, its like a big froo froo drink. you know 'froo... froo?'" he then tried to read #2's name tage and he got his glasses and held them right up to her chest for like a minute straight trying to pronounce her fancy name. she was cracking up and he was totally obliviously clueless. anyway, eventually we had all 4 waitresses gathered around our table trying to figure out what drink he was talking about. and they eventually finally cracked the case... it was fruit punch. so he just ordered a pina colada instead. idiot. the waitresses thought it was hilarious though and from then on we were their favorite table. even though we were the only table. whatever. anyway grandma and i split a tahitian pizza which had all these totally random things on it, but i loved it anyway. pizza is pizza my friend. so we ate, went up to the room, showered, and plopped into bed. off to new zealand tomorrow!
