Moving on...

2005-09-20, Ladakh, India

This is the third time I've sat down in an internet cafe to write something. The past two times I was unable to get anything out. This can be frustrating sometimes because I want to keep all of you in touch with my experiences. I've learned to approach these difficulties lightly though, and at times it just takes some extra determination to update my journal. (Or in this case, a strong cup of coffee)

It's my last day in Leh, Ladakh. This might have something to do with my attitude. I can't define how I am feeling. I want to go, and I want to stay. That's not possible though, so I've chosen to go. Like I've said in previous updates, I've become very comfortable and settled here. It almost feels like I'm leaving home. That's the way I felt when I left Kathmandu 3 months ago. By the end of my trip, I'll have homes and families all over the world. Don't worry "real" family. Oregon will always be my real home.

I bought my bus ticket this morning and will be heading for Kashmir tomorrow morning. It will take about 2 days to reach there, but with a stop over in a city called Kargil. Much easier than the 25 hours straight I spent on a bus in Peru. I enjoy bus travel, especially through the mountains. I don't have any plans of what to do after I reach Kashmir. I'll probably stay for a week, and then head south.

This will have to do for a journal update today. The cup of coffee has naturally made me need to pee.

Thanks for reading.
