Well peopletjes, after a few lazy days of being harrassed by street vendors and the odd lady boy or two it was time to move on from that idyllic setting that was Ko Samui. One sec, Maaike would like to add that she won a bet where I thought one of the bar girls was like kinda cute and stuff and yes you've guessed it - it was a young lad. Ha ha... well at least you know there's no censorship of this travel blogs content by it's editors ;-)
After completing another 24 hour trip we have now entered Malaysia where things are starting to look different. We are in Penang ( Georgetown to be exact ), an island off the North West coast of Malayia. As a former British settlement with it's uber hetrogeneous collection of different descents, it looks like it's got something to offer.. more on this later.

Well after a couple of days in Penang it's time again to move on for tonight we're getting a bus and heading east to a more conservative Islam state where we will find our new home - the Perhentian islands.
We're both pretty much museum'ed out now but feeling rich in local heritage after engaging in a musuem frenzy here in Georgetown. Interesting place with it's multi ethnic diversity and the harmony in which they live. My sceptism led me to peruse the local papers for any signs of ethnic hatred amongst the several groups but this was not to be found ( our taxi driver also assured us of this....!! ).
We even got to see some monkeys in the Botanic Gardens here.
