Driving on Transpantaneira... asking (begging) the driver to stop the car. We had just entered on the Pantanal, and I had never, in my entire life, seen so many wild animals in such short space.
We wanted to take pictures of some white birds with long legs that were close by.
The car stopped.
I was watching the birds, taking pictures like crazy, when I heard a noise very close to my feet.
Looked down.
And… Oh My God!!! I froze. Paralyzed. Oh Shit!!!
They were one meter or so from me: FOUR alligators!!! One of them was really looking at ME!!! I was so scared!

Ok. They were just alligators, they were minding their own business, and they completely ignored me. Happy me!!!

Welcome to Pantanal. :-)

(this text is a contribution and experience from my friend that shared this journey with me ;-) )
