After living here for almost 1 year and working in a supermarket things may be looking up :)

Over here buisnesses get money from the job center to allow people to do placements in their company, after that they get paid to employ people on a trial basis. Therefore, you hardly ever get recruited straight away here.

I am taking part in an employment project where we aim to make contacts (thats essential too, more important than speaking Swedish!) and are studying Swedish at university level.

Teh project has been going for two months and the swedish course is underway...not to difficult yet but loads of homework.

ANYWAY! Have met two companies who want me there to do a placement, so i am starting with one of them in two weeks to give it a try with another employment opp as back up! Excellento!

There is a scottish guy here too !

I have been recieving quite a few emails about moving to Sweden.

The best way is via universities, you can come here as an exchange student or within the EU no probs. There are no fees to pay here to study and if you get a job later (or a nice swede) then you have grounds to apply for a residency permit. If you come from within the EU as i did then this is relatively hassle free.

Keep the Q's coming and i'll try my best to help.

(hi MORI's!!!)
