For those of you who were with us a year ago when Julie and I got wed, let us reflect for a moment on what a fun time it was. For those of us who were in Japan...well, we love you too.
Anyway, just a few things I wanted to say about Italy, which I did not get to. It really is romantic as everyone says. OY! Please make it a to-do on your life list. I ate pasta every day and loved it. Course it could just be my heritage.
Also, the trains there were so good. We always got to where we wanted to go, and sometimes where we didnt expect to go, but were delighted when we got there. I even wrote a little ditty that I think captures the rhythm and flavor of traveling through the Italian countryside. It requires two people, and goes something like this:
1st person:Pasta,Pasta,Pasta,Pasta,Pasta,Pasta,Pasta..etc..
2nd person:Olives and grapes, Grapes and olives, Olives and Grapes, Grapes and Olives.. etc. You get the idea. Try it out and tell me what you think.
Finally, a sad note for all you fans of Mat's British Woman hat. I left it behind on the train as we made a mad dash for the ferry to greece. The dash was so mad, that it even required me jumping on the back of a forklift that was heading toward the ticket terminal. needless to say we got on the boat, but with moments to spare.

PS- hi, its julie now. okay, a note about greece. This country has all my favorite colors in one place. The deep green/blue of the sea, the blue of the sky, and the turquoise of the coastal waters. The beaches are endless on this island and we are determined to see each one. Love, julie
