The English and Community Eco-tourism project – with UCA Miraflor, Nicaragua
This is an entirely voluntary programme teaching English for guiding and eco-tourism. UCA Miraflor is a union of small agricultural co-operatives whose members farm on the Miraflor Nature Reserve, near Esteli. Their aim: sustainable livelihoods. Their main crops are coffee – organic and shade grown – vegetables, milk production and cattle. Eco-tourism is growing and to communicate with non-Spanish speakers the guides, host families and community members want to speak English. You will contribute to the education, diversification of work opportunities, and skills enhancement of young people.
