We are in Greece! This place really feels like the most trendy place on earth. Its filled with young people sitting in cafes and shopping. Now our internet cafe is filled with teenagers playing desert combat.
We took an all night boat ride from Italy to Greece and it was so much fun. Our boat had a casino, 3 bars, 2 restaurants, and even a pool (that was closed). Now we head to a town near Corinth called Lutraki (its famous for its healing waters) for Shabbat, and after that we will spend next week island hopping.
We had the most wonderful week with my family in Italy. We started in Rome and headed down to the Amalfi coast which (hopefully we can put up some picts) is unbelieveably beautiful. The drive to the town of Positano (where we stayed) is one long and windy road on a cliff. The town is completely built into this cliff, so to walk anywhere you go up and down. The Mediteranean was incredibly stunning and there were many cute cats.
We took some sidetrips one to Pompii (the city destroyed by Mt. Vesuvious in 79 CE) and to an island called Capri. Pompii was incredible to see. The ruins are really well intact and the feel of the place is eerie. The town was very wealthy and had all the same luxueries we have today (running water, stoves, transportation system, advanced streets, even airconditioning of sorts) the buildings were stunning and ornate each one had the remains of a foot pool when you entered, frescos covering the walls, and beautifully tilled floors.
Rome was also an experience, between the vatican city, the sistene chapel, the old city of Rome, we were totally inspired by the ingenuity of Rome and the Roman contribution to the world.
In a week we head to Israel. We are so excited to see friends and family and to be back in Israel after such a long time.
When we get there we will get a cell phone and will hopefully be keeping in better contact with you.
