Flying Home To A Car Crash

We chatted a bit last night to Luis (the odd Mexican guy in our room) and exchanged email addresses and invites to each others homes should we ever be in Mexico or he should find himself in Essex.

Chris had a good nights sleep but Rak was restless with her cold kicking in. We got up at 8am and got packed and ready to leave. After checking out we made the short walk to the train station, bought a ticket to the airport and got on the train.

After checking in we received meal vouchers as it was a British Airways flight and the ground crew who deal with the meals were on strike. So we went and ate some sandwiches before going through to the duty free section and buying lots of Swiss Chocolate for everyone back home.

The flight was about an hour and a half and the airport procedures went smoothly. We picked up the car and decided to head through Southall on the way home as there was loads of traffic the other way.

We wanted to make it back before 4pm as that's when the TESCOS store shut and we needed dinner. Also Arsenal - Chelsea was on TV and we planned to watch that. The trip was going well and we were on time despite the V festival being held in Chelmsford. We entered the roundabout before the store with 20 mins to spare only for an old lady to assume we were taking the same exit she wanted and veered into us from the right.

Much debate between her and Rak followed as to who was in the wrong, before details were exchanged. Assessing the damage Rak's car (Little Miss Daisy) wasn't badly damaged but the elderly woman had a big old dent in hers. We had missed the oppertunity to shop for dinner at TESCOS so drove the short distance home, unloaded the car and rang relatives to let them know we were back. We rang for a Pizza and sat eating that in the comfort of home to end our 2 week Switzerland adventure....
