I got my first taste of my job on Tuesday. I sat in on a department chair meeting. Present were the Academic VP who will be my actual boss, and 11 department chairs. It was an extremely informative, inspiring meeting - these people are awesome - and made me very excited about this position. There's never been an admin before, so while it's desperately needed, they don't quite know what to have me do. They'll learn...
The meeting was at the Associate Dean's fabulous house in suburbia Klaipeda. We met & worked & talked through policy & planned from 9-530, with a break in the middle for saslykas. My stomach was so happy!
It's kind of odd to be on the academic side of things again, but I appreciate the break from Student Life part of my brain. LCC is making huge strides toward some extremely exciting things for both students and the institution as a whole. It's a good season to be here. I'm excited to see some of the plans unfold as policies and programs are implemented. God certainly has His hand on this school.
