Hello from Mykonos (pronounced Me-koe-noce)...
I had originally planned to take a ferry to ios (pronounced ee-ohs) for the day long beach parties but was dissuaded from the island by the offer of staying in a 5 star resort on mykonos. Yeah it was great...for just 15 euros a night I have been staying at the mykonan imperial resort (http://www.magical-greece.com/mykonian_imperial_hotel_mykonos.htm) which is amazing. I met this group and one of the girls is the daughter of the owner and invited me to hang out with them and celebrate my birthday for the weekend. I felt bad because I was suppose to meet some other travelers in ios but I did send them an e-mail. At the resort I have basically been sitting by the pool, which is salt water by the way (a first for me), and just relaxing. Eating a lot, sleeping a bit, oh and I got a nice shiatsu massage. So my birthday was cool, very relaxing. I wish you all could have been here to celebrate with me but there will be many more...hopefully. I took some pictures

Most of them are just pics of the mediteranean and agean sea. The water is so blue and warm that I couldn't stop taking pics of it. Mykonos is famous for their white buildings (all of them are white!), old windmills, and great beaches and night life. I had a lot of fun in mykonos and would recommend it to anyone visiting greece. I really wanted to visit santorini island but this is the peak season and it takes almost a week to get a ferry there. So...I have to skip it. I am returning to athens tomorrow to meet up with this egyptian cat I met. We're gonna check out the ruins and hang at the beach. Then wednesday I return to italy where I will visit milan and venice before heading to barcelona to meet an old friend and then home. I can't believe I have just one more week remaining. This trip thus far has been amazing. You learn a lot travelling alone and while I think that it may not be for everyone, I really have valued the experience. Thanks again for all the happy b-days. See you all soon...
