Hello everyone!!! I have left the farm life for the beach life...sad but true! I have also uploaded a gazillion pics, so I hope everyone is satisfied.
Heres what has happened in the past couple of days. The new helper, Ola, showed up to work. She is from Poland!! very cool! We all went out a couple of nights to the square for the festivals.
Well yesturday was my last day and Antonello planned a big hike for the group. We were hiking with all these old men that do this every week...I hope I am doing that when I get older. Anyways...it was a pretty good hike to say the least! I even tackled Mount Tranquillo (Tranquil Mountain), which was not so "tranquil" on the way up!! there was no path...Italians dont follow paths, they make their own!! I think the down was worse though...I should have just rolled, but I dont think I would be sitting here typing this story!
Last night the new guest arrived...2 English girls who were very pleasant...then the New Yorkers came. I dont know what it is with the New Yorkers I have met on this trip, but we are 0 for 2 here. They had a little girl, Iola, aka Problem Child on Crack Cocaine. She is 4 years old and little miss thang....very loud! she had to use the bathroom and her parents stepped outside to unload the car.... She starts screaming from the pot, "Someone Come WIPE me!!!!" over and over and over and over again. Complete disruption of the peaceful atmosphere of the farm. Then the parents wanted their own bathroom (we all share one) oh and BATH ROBEs!!! this is not the PLAZA my friends it is a FARM STAY!!! hello!!! the whole household was gossiping....we have a bet that they wont stay the 4 days they had planned. Sad I was leaving but glad that I didnt have t deal with that family. The mom even asked Antonello if one of the "helpers" could babysit for them!!!! HA!!!!!!!!! Go Americans...I love it...they had to be Americans!!!!
Anyway, I left at 6 am this morning on a bus to Napoli. I was tired!! I am so glad that I am not staying in Napoli...the place is filthy and creepy. I actually had this drunk fellow follow me and I had to shove him off....he didnt understand my english apparently. Not a comfortable situation and I am very glad that it was broad daylight out! I tried to find a boat to Amalfi but that didnt work so I took a train. Casually reading on the train and we came to a stop and some people got on and then this stray dog got on. It was hilarious!! He layed down on the ground and then got up to get off at the next stop...too funny!
I finally made it to Amalfi about 7 hours later and it is beautiful! I am staying at Casa di Willy....very nice place! I even got a scooter ride up the mountain from Willy...nice English chap!! I have been on the computer officially too long and I have to go, but I hope to make it to Pompeii tomorrow and then Venice hopefully!!
